What is Microblading?

Microblading is known by many names including: eye embroidery… microstroking… feather touch… Ombre brows… hair strokes, as well as many others. Technicians deposit pigment in fine strokes into the upper region of the dermis. This process of drawing individual hairs into the skin results in beautiful, fuller, natural-looking eyebrows.
We can also design the ideal eyebrow shape for your face by applying creamy pigments into the skin. The process is meticulous and should be completed by a technician who has many hours of hands-on coursework and is certified in Microblading.

Is Microblading safe?

It depends on who is performing the procedure.
Microblading and other forms of permanent makeup are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, so you should protect yourself by asking whether a technician is certified and understands medical procedures.
To be absolutely safe, choose a certified Microblading technician who has a strong understanding of health and medical procedures to reduce your risks of infection.

Certified medical practitioners provide the safest treatments

We at Scottsdale Vanity Med Spa are medical professionals who have worked in aesthetic, sterile, medical environments for over 30 years. Our procedure rooms are set up for sterile procedures.
We also understand pain control and carry stronger, medical-grade anesthetics than non-medical Microblading technicians.
In addition to traditional medicine, medical director Dr. Thomas Kupka M.D. and Colleen Kupka R.N. have been trained in aesthetics in the U.S. and Internationally. We follow the BEAUTIPHICATION process which follows Leonardo DaVinci’s mathematical principle of creating beauty and harmony through “divine” proportion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Microblading Hurt?

At Scottsdale Vanity Med Spa, your comfort is important to us. We use a combination of three anesthetics, and the strength of these anesthetics can only be administered at a medical practice by medical professionals and are not available to estheticians.

How do you choose a color for my eyebrows?

At our first meeting, we choose a color by testing small amounts of different pigments on the skin near your brows and choose the best match for your brow color, skin tone and preferences.

What pigments do you use?

Our permanent makeup products are created and formulated by Linda Dixon a permanent makeup pioneer, here in the U.S.A. Her pigments are guaranteed NOT to change colors and are dermatologist tested, contain no chemical additives and are considered hypoallergenic.

What will my eyebrows look like after the procedure?

Your eyebrows may be a slightly darker shade than the pigment for a few weeks, but they will gradually soften to a lighter color. The area around the brow may be swollen and a bit red or white—this is considered normal.

Will the color of my eyebrows fade?

Yes, because your skin changes over time. Four to six weeks following the procedure, your eyebrows may be touched up and once a year thereafter.

Will my eyebrows look fake after microblading?

No, the treatment involves precise artistry to guarantee soft, natural-looking eyebrows. The microblading tool and the careful strokes make it look like individual hairs.

What If I don’t like the results?

Can add color to help change the shape of the brow or soften its look. Keep in mind that immediately after the procedure, the brows are at their darkest and color will lighten.

Do you require a Patch Test?

Yes, all of our clients are provided a patch test during their initial consultation.
